The Royal Cornwall Show, now in it’s 224th year, has something for everyone. Not just a farm animal competition, there are so many different things to see and do, there isn’t time for anyone to be anything but thrilled. It is a weekend of fun and bonhomie, with people meeting up just as they have done for decades.

You will be awestruck at the death-defying motocross displays, and then awestruck all over again as the RAF Falcons take to the sky’s. Although this modern stuff is great, the Royal Cornwall Show is a country show, so the thrill of the mounted games will have you jumping up and shouting for your favourites. If that doesn’t do it for you, how about show-jumping? The thud thud thud of galloping horses and the feeling of your heart in your mouth as those riders sail over the jumps…….always hoping that bottoms will stick to saddles and no-one takes a fall.

You will still find the livestock competitions that draw farmers from all over the country, and they amazing parades that are always popular. But there is also a flower show, examples of Cornish crafts, a steam exhibition and a military band, and of course, country dancing.

All the activity will surely make you hungry, so head off to the Cornwall Food and Farming Pavillion where you can sample lots of mouth-watering Cornish food and drink under one roof. You will find a plethora of things to eat that will give you a new perspective on Cornish culinary skills and make you wish you could live there forever.
