
The Reading Beer and Cider Festival is a 4-day long event where visitors can celebrate their love for real ale and have a good time with friends and family. The event, organised by the Campaign for Real Ale will have over 500 real ales, key keg beers, ciders and perries. There will also be a number of gluten-free beers, vegan and vegetarian drinks, foreign beer, wines, meads, soft drinks and hot drinks. So there is something to suit everyone including those with a sweet tooth, ale enthusiasts and drivers.
On entry to the event, everyone will get a glass which they can get filled with their drink of choice. For those wanting to taste various ales and cider throughout the festival, drinks can be served in third, half or full pint measures. To help soak up the beer there will be some delicious hot food served at the market stalls. There will be a line-up of exceptional local traders serving everything from German bratwurst and Cornish pasties to chocolates, olives and coffee.
The festival is family friendly, children are allowed at the festival until 8pm each night, except for Saturday evening which is adults over. Dogs are also allowed at the festival if they are on a lead and well-behaved. Sunday is a family day and there will be extra entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy. Throughout the festival, there will be lots of live entertainment including live music from local bands and the Kennet Morris Men. As well as traditional pub games including shuffleboard, skittles and a tombola.
