Coming to the heart of Leicester, the Leicester Beer Festival will be held at the Haymarket Theatre. The festival this year will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1st man on the moon with a special space theme throughout.
The festival will be the perfect chance for visitors to explore the world of real ales and cider. This will definitely one small step for ale and one giant leap for real ale! There will be over 230 different ales available at the festival which will be served straight from the cask. This impressive number of ales will feature lots of local breweries as well as some from across the country. There will be beer styles to suit everyone, from milds, bitters and IPAs to fruit beers and golden ales. Plus there will be a key keg craft ale bar and a real cider bar serving over 30 ciders and perries. Look out for some festival special brews which will be created by local breweries and will feature connections to the moon landing theme.
On entry to the festival, visitors will get a glass which features the moon landing festival logo and is marked with lines to identify 1/3, 1/2 and full pint measurements. The glass is refundable when you leave or can be taken home as a great souvenir.
There will be a selection of food available at the festival featuring traditional English food and snacks such as local pork pies, sausage rolls, nuts and pork scratching. And hot food including curry and burgers. Light entertainment will also feature throughout the festival including morrismen, local musicians and the six nations rugby will also be shown.
