Held at the spectacular Hardwick Hall, the Great British Food Festival in Derbyshire is considered to be one of the biggest and most important foodie events of the year. In a similar vein to the other events of the series being held throughout the year up and down the country, the Derbyshire Great British Food Festival aims to showcase the very best of what the county has to offer.
Derbyshire food and drink will be very much the star of the show at this event and across the three days, you will have plenty of chances to try various mouth-watering products and dishes all featuring locally-sourced and produced ingredients. There will also be demonstrations from the likes of Luke Owen from Masterchef and Great British Bake off contestant Howard. Another highlight as always of these events is the competition featuring gastronomic feats of patience and determination – Men Vs. Food.
It’s not all about the food and drink. Okay, that is exactly what it is about, but it is not the only thing to look forward to at this event as there will be live music to soundtrack the weekend from start to finish. British food is obviously the main focus, but that’s not to say other cuisines are left out as there will be a variety of street food available from around the globe, to remind all of Britain’s diverse culture.e on offer, as well as free wine tasting, a traditional hog roast, and various food stalls selling everything from preserves and pickles, to cider, cheese, and home-baked cakes. There will also be a whole host of games and children’s activities, including circus skills workshops and cookery lessons, plus live music performances on all three days. No need to worry if you can’t make it this
If that’s not enough to get you excited, there is also a traditional hog roast, free wine tasting lessons and food stalls that sell just about anything and everything from home-baked cakes and cheese to cider, pickles and even preserves.
