The Eccles Beer festival returns again this year but has now expanded to cater for gin lovers as well! Across the weekend we’ll have 20 beers, 10 gins, 6 ciders, live music, live rugby, and hot food. We’ll also have a full range of ‘normal’ drinks for anyone is unfortunate enough to not like beer or gin. The Friday session will start earlier this year to accommodate the afternoon crowds as well as the evening opening. On Saturday afternoon we’ll see exhibition rugby between Eccles men’s teams and Halifax RUFC. Saturday evening will see live music and other entertainment (exact details TBC). On Sunday it is free entry for anyone who wants to come down and help us drink up.

The event will be hosted by Eccles RFC, a community rugby club in Eccles. Their ethos is providing rugby and other opportunities for everyone, offering teams to boys and girls, men and women of all ages and ability levels. They also offer a Duke of Edinburgh programme for their young members to develop essential life skills. And provide facilities which are used by the whole community. Moneys raised over the weekend will go towards the club’s running and minimising the costs passed on to young people.
