The Derbyshire Country Show is just what everyone needs. With more animals than Noah’s Ark you are bound to see your favourite represented. If your favourite animal is a horse, however, you will be able to see them in almost every shape and size there is!

Not just that, there are lots of horse related sports such as ladies hunter side-saddle final, private driving and carriage driving, and showjumping, too. If you are more into the heavy horses, such as Clydesdale’s and Shires, they will be well represented as you get a glimpse of their past glories. There was a time when all transport was pulled by these giant beasts, milk floats, ploughs, bread vans and even removal vans. There will also be an open dog show, run under kennel club regulations for all you dog lovers out there!

If you prefer a motor to four legs, there are tractors and lorries from bygone ages that have been lovingly restored to their former glory, by real enthusiasts who are happy to chat about their projects.

If that wasn’t enough there is a Companion Dog Show, which is run under Kennel Club rules.

If you don’t like dogs, how about a rabbit? There is a rabbit show with so many breeds available to view. Rabbit folk are very friendly, and they will be happy to discuss with you any information you need. If you want a particular breed for a pet, there is always someone who knows someone who can help you.

If you are more interested in flowers, then your needs are catered to. There are lots of flowers in the show, one of the bonuses of having the show in June means that there are always blooms to look at and get excited about.

There are a wealth of animal shows as well as demonstrations of country crafts like dry stone walling and many others. Wherever your particular interest likes, the Derbyshire Country Show will have something for you.
