In Wensleydale, birthplace of the nations most favourite cheese, is this festival celebrating the Dales wonderful food and drink. People of Yorkshire are rightly proud of their local food and drink, which is something that Yorkshire folk love dearly. It’s about the high quality local food, and they are right to take very seriously. This festival, with its huge array of delicious foods is a very important date on the gastronomic calendar.

To take advantage of the summer weather, this year’s festival will take place in June. You can anticipate lots of cookery demonstrations, often by top chefs in the region. There is a real ale section to the festival with wonderful local brews, and a delicious wine bar. You will be entertained by celebrity talks, and exciting live music. Even the little ones have entertainment laid on with a funfair and a bungee trampoline.

There will be a full compliment of food stalls. From coffee to pizza, from hot dogs to crepes, there is something for everyone and you will be able to eat to your hearts content. Deliciously Yorkshire is sponsoring the cookery theatre marquee, and you can anticipate watching and learning from industry professionals, some of which are tutors from Darlington College School of Catering.

Not only this, but The Old School House will have arts and crafts stands where local crafts folk, artisans and artists will show their amazing talents. Not to be outdone, there are not just one but two brass bands to entertain everyone.
