In the Victorian and very idyllic seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea, which lies close to the coast in Somerset, the Burnham-on-Sea Farmer’s Market opens for trading. As well as visiting the town as a popular seaside resort, the market also attracts a lot of attention.

Situated along the full length of the High Street, it hosts stalls from visiting guest producers and local traders covering a wide array of produce and ingredients from fresh fruit and veg to gourmet meats and breads not only from the county itself, but further out as well. One of the main draws to this festival is Seafoods, the award-winning fishmonger that sells locally caught fish.

Due to its setting, Burnham-on-Sea is not only perfect for visiting for the actual farmer’s market, but for a day trip to this beautiful town, where you can explore the beach or all the little shops once you are done at the Farmer’s Market. Some of the stalls that appear each year include:

• The Humble Pie Co: A Somerset-based award winning pie maker.
• Times Past Cheese Dairy: Visit this stall for some magical flavoured cheeses and local cheddars
• GM Country Sports: Game meat suitable for the season, as well as access to venison at any time during the year.
• Portbridge Vegetables: A remarkable selection of home-grown and organic vegetables throughout the year.
• Mike’s Pork: Somerset Levels-sourced free-range pork.
• Berrow Beef: A family-owned and run farm that produces succulent lamb and beef on the Somerset Levels.

• Orchard Farm Preserves: homemade jams and chutneys made with local fruit and vegetables as well as traditional cake
