If you find yourself in the West Country in the Bridgwater area mid-February, and fancy some food-based adventures, you should consider the Bridgwater Food And Drink Festival. Not only is it a free event to enter, but it is also one of the foremost showcases for tasty dishes and food from restaurants and producers in the local area. It is a festival all about Somerset. Not just the food and drink, but the people too and offers entertainment for the whole family.
At the festival you will find a variety of different stalls that have on offer visual and most importantly, flavoursome treats such as locally-sourced meats, dairy products, confectionery, ciders and some truly unique cheeses. In addition to being able to buy and sample these tasty things, you will also be treated to an array of food demonstrations that will inspire you with new techniques and styles of cooking and recipe ideas you may never even have thought of trying beforehand.
Once you have filled your bellies and bags with as much food and drink as you are able to, make your way to the dance floor and immerse yourself in West Country culture by listening to the local musicians providing the entertainment. If you are bringing the kids along, they are more than welcome and you needn’t worry about them as the Bridgwater Food And Drink Festival is an event for the whole family and there are lots of things going on for children.
Simply put, we can think of no other way to spend a cold Saturday when you are in the West Country than at this fun food festival.
