Brecon County Show is a postively amazing county show with all manner of displays, demonstrations from traditional agricultural competitions to modern entertainment.

The show is for the whole family, no-one would dare say there was nothing they wanted to do – there is so much variety! There are market stalls that have local foods, street traders selling food and drink, arts and crafts from local talented people, and artisan food from producers all over the region.

You can expect a wide range of food from the traditional pies and fudges to more varied foods, perhaps buffalo or zebra. Their are some true artisans of food who take so much care to make sure that their food is home grown and local, often organic and without preservatives or other nasty ingredients.

Animal competitions are always fun, and cattle sheep and poultry will all compete as well as goats and sheep shearing competitions. There will be dog shows of course, agility and pet classes. Why not bring your dog along and see if you can win a prize?

There will be vintage farm machinery that has been lovingly restored, and just as lovingly restored some classic cars to look at.

The children are not left out; there is a fairground and various other activities to keep them entertained all day long. Why not take them to do a bit of ferret racing? Or take them to see the adorably pygmy goats?
