Taste@Skelton is a food festival incorporated into Skelton Show, one of the biggest one day agricultural shows in the North of England. Over 12000 people attend the show to see the cattle, sheep, horses vintage vehicles and ringside entertainment. The Taste@Skelton food festival is an important part of the show and features over forty of the finest food producers in the area, as well as demos by local top chefs etc.
Skelton Show itself has been run since the end of the 1800’s. Grown from a very small local show taking place in the village to one of the biggest agricultural events in Cumbria. It now takes place on the very first Saturday in July in the Old Park at Hutton in the Forest near Penrith.
The show has a massive horticultural and industrial marquee and classes of cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, vintage vehicles, fur and feathered animals and Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling. With well over 150 trade stands, a gift and crafts tent, a wide variety of entertainment, music, food and bar it has a reputation for being a great day out in the Country for all the family.
