The Great British Beer Festival is put on by CAMRA. As every serious beer drinker knows, CAMRA is dedicated and committed to promoting real ales, real beers in real pubs. CAMRA has tens of thousands of members to please so you can be sure when they put on beer festival, it’s going to be fun.
The Great British Beer Festival is the largest in Britain. It attracts over 50,000 visitors. It is revered because it brings together so many real ales from all over the UK. Returning for it’s 41st year, visitors can expect nearly 1,000 (yes it’s moving towards four figure numbers) real ales from microbreweries all over the country, as well as favourite British brands. There will be limited edition brews, and the odd one off special. There will be hundreds of bottled beers too, British and foreign, and to add to that there will be real ciders and perrys.
Now this isn’t some kind of giant wild party. It involves the full British pub experience, so you can anticipate games, pub quizzes, live entertainment and food in the shape of snacks and crisps, maybe even some pork scratchings. This festival celebrates the feeling you get when you walk into your local, knowing you are going to get a warm welcome, a cold beer and the chance to relax in arguably natural surroundings.
Just like your favourite local, you will meet like minded people enjoying themselves too. Could there be any better reason to get yourself down to the Great British Beer Festival and have a really good time?
Note, please check the event website before attending. Dates can change and events can get cancelled, we can not be held responsible.
