Bridport in West Dorset is like an abondoned pear on the sea bed.. a market town situated 1.5 miles away from the the Jurassic Coast at West Bay. Go there to discover its fabulous food festival which, although officially on the 17th June, is actually a culmination of events by local businesses all over the town. From the 11th June there are exciting things available for visitors to do and experience, it seems like everyone is involved.
What Can You Do?
Last year was the Queens 90th birthday so there was a Right Royal BBQ with seafood at Riverside Restaurant. They always support the festival so they will surely be involved this year, theme is to be confirmed.
Children can try their hand in many food related activities, from decorating biscuits to using a bike adapted to make smoothies. Yes, you read that right, it was invented by a local engineer.
The festival carefully overlaps the Bridport Beer Festival run by the Bridport Round Table which is on Friday evening and Saturday.
For a quirky festival full of fun, which attracts over 3,000 visitors from all over the country, you can’t get better than the Bridport Food Festival.
