The Whittingham Beer and Sausage Festival returns to Preston again this year, so prepare your gut for the meatiest beer-fest of the year. Why should you come to this event? If you love beer and love a good sausage, that’s why.
If you ever needed a good excuse to eat as many sausages as your stomach will allow, this was it. The great thing is you will come across many varieties you probably never knew or dreamed existed, such as Black Pudding sausage and Goosnargh Duck Sausage. There will be 10 different kinds of gourmet class sausages to get stuck into and each one of these succulent beauties is produced locally by local people. It should go without saying that the humble but tasty, Old English Pork will be available too.
What about the beer element? As well as the usual array of beers and ciders you would expect, there will also be around 80 different local and real ciders and ales, as well as 10 more unusual ciders to taste. When it comes to drinks, you’re bound to find something to suit your tastes with a selection of over 80 real and local ales and ciders. And if you’re feeling adventurous, there are around 10 of the more unusual varieties of cider to try this year so you might just find a new favourite.
As the event has a family feel, all soda water, cola and lemonade are free of charge, so it won’t cost you a fortune to pay for the non-alcoholic drinks for young ones and non-drinkers. One of the major selling points of this event besides the food and drink is the fact that they offer 5 bands for a £5. That’s right, over the course of the weekend there are at least 5 bands playing live music and a wide variety of other forms of entertainment too.
Note, please check the event website before attending. Dates can change and events can get cancelled, we can not be held responsible.
